MTV’s Video Music Awards have become a destination for big-time artists to premiere new music. Kanye West and Pusha T gave an unforgettable 2010 performance of “Runaway,” off of ‘Ye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and Nicki Minaj will look to follow in their footstep when she graces the stage on Sunday, August 24. According to MTV News, Minaj will perform her new single, “Anaconda,” which will hopefully be the final step in releasing the music video.

This is not the first time Minaj is performing at the VMAs. In 2010, she performed a set at the pre-show, and in 2012, she joined Alicia Keys for a performance of, “Girl On Fire.” This will be the first time she takes to the mainstage by herself.

After serving six years in prison for assault, Remy Ma is now a free woman and ready to get back on her grizzly. She’s wasted no time letting her presence be known by quickly hopping on DJ Khaled’s “They Don’t Love You No More (Remix).” A half a decade on lock down definitely didn’t alter the former Terror Squad MC’s rhyme style as Mrs. Papoose seemed to go straight for the jugular of an unnamed female rapper on the track leaving many to speculate if she was going at either Nicki Minaj or Iggy Azalea. Remy dispelled those rumors in her first post prison interview with Funk Master Flex, saying she would like to work with the current stars of female rap. “Iggy Azalea, and Nicki [Minaj],” she said.

Further elaborating on her stance of working with other female artists instead of playing the bully role, Remy spoke on the difference between how male and female rappers are perceived. “What I think happens with females in this game, they tend to allow other people to pit us against each other,” she said. “I’ve said this before. They make it seem like there can only be one female. It can be a thousand guys that’s putting out music and rapping and doing what they do, but when it comes to females in this hip-hop business, they make it seem like it can only be one, and if there’s more than one then ‘Alright, y’all better be at each other’s throats every chance that you get.’ And any time you say one of those things, they’re like, ‘Oh yeah, she has to be talking about this person when she said that.’ And I just feel like it got really crazy, to the point where I wouldn’t tolerate it.”

Two of America’s most wanted, in the same place, at the same time? Yes in deed. In a precedent setting move, Beyoncé finally links up with Nicki Minaj for the first time for Bey’s “Flawless (Remix),” a do over of the popular track that originally appeared on Mrs. Hov’s recent self-titled LP.

As rumors of a split between her and Jay have been abound for the last few weeks, Queen B downplays the hear-say and even acknowledges the now infamous elevator incident, crooning, “Of course, sometimes sh-t goes down when it’s a billion dollars on a elevator.” As usual, Nicki provides bars filled with estrogen laden braggadocio.

Check out the new track, above.

Nicki Minaj took to her Twitter today (July 23) to lightly discuss a controversial issue that many believe to be dead, while others live that sad truth everyday. The “Pills and Potions” rapper spoke on racism still existing in today’s world, but shortly after encouraged fans to keep their head up and aim for the best.

Minaj tweeted: “Racism is alive and well”, “Some people have to put in work. others get to cut corners. we see it but don’t say it. welcome to the real world.”, and ultimately, “Continue to strive for GREATNESS.”.

Although she denied the 2014 BET Award allegations, could this be another shot fired at Iggy Azalea?

Have you ever wondered sometimes what your favorite rapper was saying? Like maybe their lines were so intricate that you couldn’t grasp the meaning any of them. Well, maybe their lines were either that potent or they just didn’t make any sense at all. A new meme called, the “Fact Checking Rap Meme” is on a rampage and is on a mission to point out the errors in some of your favorite rappers’ lines.

The creator of the meme, emanhudson, has made it his duty to shed light on the lyrical inaccuracies made by a bevy of successful rappers including Jay Z, Kanye West, and Nicki Minaj.

Emanhudson poked fun at Kanye West for his line on “Black Skinhead.” “I keep it 300 like the Romans,” says Ye. Emanhudson begs to differ. “But 300 was about Spartans…,” says the meme.

The meme was also critical of Nicki Minaj for her lyrics on Young Thug’s “Danny Glover” (Remix).“I am not gay, but let’s be precise/‘Cause if she pretty, then watch it ‘cause I’mma be fuckin’ ya wife. “But thats gay…,” says the meme.

The “Fact Checking Rap Meme”, also went after Jay Z for his line “It’s Hot” from his 1999 album, Vol 3…Life & Times Of S.Carter. “Thirty-eight revolve like the sun ‘round the Earth,” rapped Jay Z. The meme fired back by saying: “But the Earth revolves around the sun…”
